Reports to: Principal/Asst. Principal - WACC
General Summary: The Career Readiness Coach will be responsible for implementing, motivating, overseeing and monitoring opportunities for students to prepare and successfully pass the Accuplacer assessment at the entry level. Based on PSAT results the Career Readiness Coach identifies, recruits, motivates and instructs students who have a variety of difficulties passing a college and career readiness test.
Essential Functions:
- Develops a plan using appropriate curriculum and resources to ensure students achieve mastery of the Accuplacer assessment. Tailoring the program and teaching methods for the specific needs of each student.
- Ensures an appropriate pool of students by using current PSAT results
- Ensures positive perception about the Career Readiness Coach by developing and maintaining positive, effective relationships with students and staff.
- Implements a variety of strategies.
- Implements a variety of opportunities for student success.
- Coordinates and administers Accuplacer assessment.
- Advocates for the program and develops a pool of effective supporting resources.
- Builds appreciation for hard work, sense of belonging and commitment to passing the Accuplacer assessment
- Provides students with career guidance and support within appropriate limits; refers students to additional support services on an as-needed basis
- Takes responsibility for learning and complying with school policies such as mandated reporting, discipline, attendance, etc
- Keeps complete records and documentation in a timely fashion including all contacts and activities involving students
- Completes special projects and other duties as assigned by the WACC Director

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Equivalent combination of training, education and experience may be considered
- Experience working with youth accompanied by knowledge of adolescent development issues
- Skills in human relations, leadership, supervision, and motivational techniques
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
Length of Contract: 180 days
Hours Per Week: 27.5
Position Type: Non-Exempt
Pay Scale:
0 YOE = $15.40
1-3 YOE = $15.90
4-6 YOE = $16.40
7-10 YOE = $16.90
11+ = $17.40
