Reports to: Assistant Principal
General Summary: The In-School Detention supervisor position facilitates the ISD classroom, assist students with academic needs, and assist with lunch supervision.
Essential Functions:
- Supervise students enrolled in ISD.
- Create the proper quiet study atmosphere for ISD.
- Perform record keeping as required (i.e. maintains files of each student assigned, maintain attendance and tardiness records).
- Assist with the disciplinary process by enforcing rules.
- Supervise students in the disciplinary process in secondary schools via facilitating both academic and disciplinary requirements of each student assigned to ISD.
- Create the proper quite study and very structured atmosphere for students assigned to ISD.
- Provide input into the rules and regulations for ISD.
- Make recommendations to the Principal for assigning further days of ISD if student violates suspension rules.
- Work and cooperate with teachers in structuring daily assignments for ISD students and Study Hall students (emails and teacher communication, collection of study materials, etc.).
- Inform Principals of any unusual circumstances that occur during ISD, Study Hall, or any detention programs.
- Supervise students assigned to after school detentions.
- Assist other support staff with clerical duties as needed or requested.
- Perform other reasonably-related duties assigned by the Principal.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED
- Basic grammar and reading, basic math, interpersonal relations, and organizational skills
- Experience with working on computer systems and Microsoft office products
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong follow through on tasks and follow up on individual student needs.
Length of Contract: 180 days
