General Summary: A Specialized Paraprofessional to Intervertionist assists in providing students with reading and time management strategies, while progress monitoring of students.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assists students primarily in grades K through 2 as an early literacy interventionist.
- Collects and assesses data and digital assessments.
- Implements instructional decisions in collaboration with the Interventionist.
- Initiates responsive instructional decisions.
- Collaborates with the Intervention Team.
- Prompt arrival to all scheduled interventions.
- Holds students accountable to high levels of achievement.
- Strong communication strategies in person and through email.
- Openness to receive regular feedback and follow through based on the observation.
- Follow programs and best teaching strategies with fidelity.
- Confidence in problem solving and recognizing when additional support is a necessity.
- Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Maintains confidentiality as defined within the policy and procedure manual.
Qualifications
- Education – High School Diploma (minimum), 48 college credits/Associate’s Degree/ability to pass the ParaPro Assessment
- Experience – Evidence of experience working with students
- Preferred:
- Knowledgeable with reading strategies
- Confident to make instructional decisions
Length of Position: 36 weeks
Hours of Position: 29.5 hours per week
Position Type: Non-exempt
