Reports to: Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education and Building Principal
General Summary: An instructional coach focuses on successful implementation of district-wide instructional practices, methodology, and K-12 curriculum to increase student learning, build empowered and equipped educators, and coach and support the Dual Immersion Language program.
Essential Functions: • Assist all grade levels in Professional Learning Communities in using formative assessment to plan instruction, interventions, and enrichment • Serve as a member of the Instructional Coaches’ collaborative team. • Strive to continuously improve district-wide practices, culture, and instruction. • Commit to moving the district mission forward. • Coach teachers to develop lesson plans, create common vocabulary, and facilitate instruction of the adopted curriculum. • Develop and conduct trainings with whole group, small group, and one-to-one instructional practices and strategies. • Participate in pursuing grant opportunities and grant management • Empower colleagues by providing information, mentoring, coaching, collaborative problem solving, and solution-focused dialogue. • Analyze data to identify, design, and implement preemptive interventions collaboratively with teams. • Create and present presentations to a variety of public audiences • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by supervisor • Maintain confidentiality as defined within the policy and procedure manual • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of technology and instructional media tools
Qualifications: • Education – Bachelor’s Degree (minimum) • Certification or Licensure – Valid Indiana Teaching License. • Experience – Must have classroom experience with demonstrated effective teaching strategies • Knowledge – Oral proficiency in Spanish |
