Reports to: Director of Performing Arts
General Summary: The Assistant Sound Technician is responsible for assisting the Sound Technician in setting up, installing, operating, testing, and troubleshooting audio/video equipment.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assist in set up of stage and installation of equipment such as microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, connection of wires and cables, etc.
- Assist in set up and operation of sound equipment.
- Assist in set up of lighting at Performing Arts Center and Lakeview Middle School, as needed.
- Support theatre, band, and music teachers, administrators and facility renters to ensure audio, lighting, and video equipment are properly set up.
- Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Education – High School Diploma or GED
- Preferred: Knowledge of audio, lighting, and sound equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to problem solve quickly
- Possess effective communication skills
Part-time: Position hours vary based on events throughout the year.
