Reports to: Director of Performing Arts

General Summary: The Assistant Sound Technician is responsible for assisting the Sound Technician in setting up, installing, operating, testing, and troubleshooting audio/video equipment.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Assist in set up of stage and installation of equipment such as microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, connection of wires and cables, etc.
• Assist in set up and operation of sound equipment.
• Assist in set up of lighting at Performing Arts Center and Lakeview Middle School, as needed.
• Support theatre, band, and music teachers, administrators and facility renters to ensure audio, lighting, and video equipment are properly set up.
• Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

• Education – High School Diploma or GED
• Preferred: Knowledge of audio, lighting, and sound equipment
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to problem solve quickly
• Possess effective communication skills

Part-time: Position hours vary based on events throughout the year.
