Reports to: Madison Elementary School STEM Coach

General Summary: The STEM Lab Assistant helps with providing a safe learning environment where children’s individual needs are met. This position supports the STEM Lab with varying job responsibilities.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Check Lego Kits- Kits should have all the pieces on itemized kit listed
• Stock extra pieces for specific Lego kits in extra container
• Inform STEM Coach of Lego pieces that need ordered or maintenance
• Deliver/retrieve Lego kits to and from teachers
• Keep inventory of Lego kits (locate missing kits if needed)
• Sort extra Lego pieces into Lego bins/drawers
• Assist with labs when needed
• Clean up and set up of labs (setup tables, chairs, wash dishes and resources needed)
• Wash/dry lab coats in school laundry
• Regular maintenance of STEM lab- sweep, dust, wipe tables down, restock resources
• Feed & water STEM critters and clean cages
• Clean and organize STEM & Technology storage rooms
• Inventory Technology resources
• Inventory Consumables-inform STEM coach of items that need reordered
• Be familiar with all inventory to help meet the needs of teachers
• Communicate well with STEM Coach

Qualifications

• Education – High School Diploma (minimum), 48 college credits/Associate’s Degree/ability to pass the ParaPro Assessment

• Ability to work overtime from time to time is required
• Excellent written and oral communications are required.
